Maurice Jadot was born in Brussels, Belgium and studied at the Academie des Beaux-Arts in the city. He came to Britain and lived in London for most of his life, flourishing as a sculptor and painter. Jadot was chairman of the Belgian Cultural Centre in Britain and a founder member of the Free Painters and Sculptors society.
He exhibited in several countries on the continent as well as at the ICA and in 1979 had a retrospective at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff. Leinster Contemporary Art also held a review show in 1987. Public collections holding his work include the Museum of Modern Art, Brussels, the National Museum of Wales and the Museum of Warsaw in Poland.
