Oil on canvas, signed, dated ’62. Titled ‘Pink-Yellow Reclining Figures’ on old frame in son Theo Melville’s hand.

Provenance: despite Theo’s titling, this is almost certainly ‘The Sleepers’ from the 1967 RBSA exhibition.
