Oil on canvas, signed. Frame dated 1/11/67. Exhibition No 1 inscribed on rear, where also inscribed ‘belongs to Mr Joseph’.
‘Women of Xauen’ was exhibited in the 1974 O’Hana Gallery solo show in London.
Xuaen or Chaoeun is a deeply religious Berber/Arab town in the Rif Mountains of Morocco.
