Provenance: the artist’s family. Address means the painting is post-1955. Illustrated as Figure 21 on page 40 in David Manson’s 2010 book ‘Willy Tirr Figure in a Landscape’.
Possibly exhibited as ‘Angry Blue and Black’ at SE62 – Bradford’s Cartwight Hall Spring Exhibition in 1962 – priced £120. But an ‘Angry’ of the right size – said to be painted in 1964 – was also exhibited at his 1979 retrospective at the Scott Gallery, University of Lancaster.
