Oil on canvas, signed. Ttitled and dated 1961 on Gallery One label verso.
Provenance: shown at Gallery One in the 1962 solo exhibition where illustrated in the catalogue and later also illustrated in the Ten Years anniversary catalogue. As such, it appears to be the painting that Victor Musgrave regarded as Sturgess-Lief’s best. Exhibited by Grosvenor Gallery at Frieze Masters 2023.
